10/11 Lab Experiment

Today was our first lab of this new year of school. We had to mix iodine with a starch. First we were instructed to mix the starch with water the put it in a regular plastic bag and tie it so there was hardly any air left in the bag. The directions were also to put a certain amount of water in a beaker and our teacher had to put drops of iodine into it. We then placed the plastic bag into a beaker of iodine and water. After fifteen minuets we were to record our observations and answer questions. The starch in the bag turned purple and I notice that the iodine got into the closed bag.
